There is a club in Carcavelos that does not teach surfing. Pride Training Club is the second bodyboard club Pride has opened in Portugal, led by Hugo Macatrão, from Nazaré. In summer, weekday classes with two sessions a day; in winter, groups for beginners and advanced riders.

In 2001 — twenty-five years ago — Frithjof Gauss swapped Sylt for Ericeira and opened a surf school. That was ten years before this coast was named a World Surfing Reserve. Today, 3 Ondas still teaches in small groups — and the school's name is itself a lesson.

Peniche is a peninsula — it has north-facing and south-facing beaches minutes apart. Seacastle teaches at Consolação, on the south side, the beach that keeps working when the other side does not.
