SurfBooking brings surf schools, surfers and instructors together in one place. Schools use the SurfBooking OS for free, at €0/month; surfers find lessons and see the sea at each beach for their level; instructors have a CV they take from school to school and see their schedule. The assistant is called Kai.

How it started
Surf is local. Each beach has its own bottom, each break its own window, each region its own rules. The tools available treat it as just another product: international forecasts that miss coastal breaks, imported booking platforms that don’t understand local federation regulation, hospitality systems never designed for beach lessons.
We decided to bring what was missing into one place.
Surf Booking brings together lesson and pack management, bookings, equipment, digital waivers, instructor profiles and local forecasts. The app is free for surfers. Schools only pay when they get marketplace bookings — 20% per confirmed sale, no monthly fees, no setup.
Surf is local everywhere. We started with the schools we know and the rules we master — Portugal's federation, RNAAT registry, port authorities — but the design works in any market where surf is local: France, Spain, Morocco, the UK, Indonesia, Costa Rica.
Every feature answers a concrete problem reported by a school that uses it. The platform grows with the people inside it.

Rules
Surf Booking accepts both federated schools and schools licensed by the State (RNAAT/Capitania). Regardless of the path, all follow the same platform rules, starting with the SB ratios.
Every school holds a valid licence — federation number, RNAAT registration or Capitania permit. No licence, no listing.
Civil liability insurance required. SB ratios flagged on every lesson. Instructor certifications are recorded and checked by our team when the instructor sends the document. Digital waivers before every lesson.
Every lesson keeps a digital record — instructor, students, equipment, sea, waivers. It belongs to the school. No surveillance, no automatic sharing.
Structured lessons (briefing, warm-up, practice, feedback). Level-appropriate equipment. Beach-level forecast to decide safely.
Price, level, duration, cancellation policy and instructor shown before payment. No hidden costs, no surprises on the beach.
The surf community has its own code. Surf Booking exists to serve that community, not to exploit it.

Proof
The first batch of schools is being onboarded manually — one by one — so the platform launches already battle-tested by people who teach every day.
Every school is reviewed personally before going live. Licence, insurance, certified instructors, real photos. If any of these items fails, the school doesn’t go live.

Surf Booking is a registered trademark. Name, logo and software are covered by formal registration and copyright.
Name and logo registered at INPI Portugal. Wordmark + figurative covered under Portuguese law.
International registration via WIPO (Madrid Protocol) in progress — once completed, the trademark becomes defensible across all designated jurisdictions.

Who we are
Every founder was born in Ericeira. Our families have lived here for more than four generations — back when Ericeira was a small fishing village of a few hundred people, before surf even existed as a structured sport.
We grew up watching the first surf footage shot on our beach, before we were old enough to paddle out. We saw what came next: the surf-school explosion, the arrival of the World Surf League, the World Surfing Reserve, and Ericeira becoming a global reference. The village changed. Surf went from hobby to profession. Schools went from two to dozens.
But one thing didn’t evolve at the same pace: the technology underneath it all. Portugal has the best waves, the best instructors, the best schools, the best sun. Booking a surf class, however, is still harder than booking a hotel night. Comparing prices is a mess. Picking the right beach for the right level on the right day — nearly impossible for someone who isn’t local.
We built Surf Booking because no one else would.
We’re not an imported startup. We didn’t copy a foreign model. We know school owners by name, we walk the beaches before adding them to the platform, and every product decision starts with: does this make sense for someone teaching surf every day? If the answer is no, it doesn’t ship.
