Every founder was born in Ericeira. Our families have lived here for more than four generations — back when Ericeira was a small fishing village of a few hundred people, before surf even existed as a structured sport.
We grew up watching the first surf footage shot on our beach, before we were old enough to paddle out. We saw what came next: the surf-school explosion, the arrival of the World Surf League, the World Surfing Reserve, and Ericeira becoming a global reference. The village changed. Surf went from hobby to profession. Schools went from two to dozens.
But one thing didn’t evolve at the same pace: the technology underneath it all. Portugal has the best waves, the best instructors, the best schools, the best sun. Booking a surf class, however, is still harder than booking a hotel night. Comparing prices is a mess. Picking the right beach for the right level on the right day — nearly impossible for someone who isn’t local.
We built Surf Booking because no one else would.
We’re not an imported startup. We didn’t copy a foreign model. We know school owners by name, we walk the beaches before adding them to the platform, and every product decision starts with: does this make sense for someone teaching surf every day? If the answer is no, it doesn’t ship.
