Three hard rules, baked into how the platform works — not a privacy policy promise. A school never sees another school's customers. Of what you book on SurfBooking, only the school teaching that lesson gets your contacts: no school can search for you in here, and nobody pulls lists out. Reviews are public, but your full name and contacts stay private.
Yes — downloading and using SurfBooking costs you nothing. You only pay when you book a lesson, and the price you see is the price you pay.
Only the school you actually book a lesson with gets your contact info, and only for that booking. No school can search the platform for surfers — that path is closed by design (audited 2026-05-07). One honest note: if you booked with the school outside SurfBooking — on its own site, at the counter, or in another system it uses that only shares its calendar with us — that data was never ours to hold. It has been theirs from the start, and it's them you ask to correct or delete it.
Yes, with refund tiers based on how close to lesson time. 100% refund if cancelled more than 96h before the lesson, 75% at 48–96h, 50% at 24–48h, no refund under 24h (unless the school cancels for dangerous sea — then you always get 100%).
If the school cancels for safety (red flag, storm, swell over your level), full refund automatically. The system flags weather over your level — schools can also auto-cancel lessons that don't make pedagogical sense for the day.
