Group lessons
The most common format. 4–8 students per instructor (federation beginner ratio). 90 minutes to 2 hours. Average €40–€55 at certified schools.
Always included: foam board adapted to your level, wetsuit, leash, certified instructor, dry-land briefing, supervised water time. Some schools include lesson photos.
Private lessons
1-on-1 or 2-on-1 (couple, parent-child). Full attention, your own pace, much faster progression. €80 to €150 depending on school and duration.
Worth it for: those who want to learn a lot in a single day, those nervous in water who need extra confidence, those who already surf and want surgical feedback.
Surf coaching
For intermediate and advanced surfers. Typically €100–€150 with video recording and technical analysis. The instructor films you in the water and reviews with you at the end — posture, pop-up, take-off, wave reading. Real progress jump.
Kids lessons
Reinforced ratio of 1 instructor : 4 children (federation rule). Smaller boards and suits. Briefing as a game. €40–€50 on average.
Packs / Bundles — where you save
Almost every school offers discounted packs. Buy 5 or 10 lessons and pay 15–25% less than one-offs. Typical validity 6 to 12 months.
Real example: pack of 5 group lessons. One-off €45 each = €225. Typical pack €185–€195. You save €30–€40.
