Carcavelos — the most accessible beach
Cascais line (train Cais do Sodré → Carcavelos) in 20 minutes. Calm wave, flat sand, predictable bottom. Over 15 certified schools operate here. Prices €30–€50 per group lesson.

Prices €35–€55. More variety in lessons, packs, levels. A good choice for repeat visits.
Cascais and Guincho
Cascais (35 minutes from Lisbon) has more technical beaches. Guincho is iconic but too windy and wavy for beginners — schools don't take lessons there. For starting, you stay at Praia da Rainha or similar.
Prices €40–€60. Worth it for those combining surf with a relaxed weekend in Cascais.
