Termo de Responsabilidade
I, the undersigned, declare that I voluntarily participate in surf activities organized by thesurfacademy. I confirm that:
1. I am in good physical health and fit to practice surfing.
2. I have been informed about the inherent risks of the activity, including drowning, injuries and contact with marine life.
3. I commit to following all safety instructions given by instructors.
4. I authorize the school to provide first aid if necessary.
5. I release thesurfacademy and its instructors from liability for accidents resulting from non-compliance with safety rules.
6. I confirm I am over 18 years old or have legal guardian authorization.
This declaration is valid for all lessons booked through the SurfBooking platform.
Health & Safety
Surfing is a physically demanding sport that requires a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability. If you are taking part in one of our surf lessons, you must be able to swim at least 50 metres unassisted.
When booking a surf lesson, either online or in person, you are required to declare any medical condition that may affect your ability to participate safely. If you have a medical condition that makes surfing inadvisable¹, you will be advised not to take part in the lesson, as you will not be covered by the sports insurance.
In the event of an accident related to an undisclosed medical condition, The Surf Academy accepts no responsibility or liability.
For safety reasons, participants who appear to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may impair their physical or mental abilities will not be permitted to take part in the lesson.
Cancellation Policy
The Surf Academy does not accept cancellations on the day of the activity. In the event of a no-show, the full cost of the lesson(s) will be charged.
Lessons may only be cancelled by the customer with a minimum of 24 hours' notice.
Lesson times are arranged directly with the customer at least 24 hours in advance.
A grace period of 10 minutes is allowed on the day of the activity. After this period, the participant will be considered a no-show, and The Surf Academy reserves the right to charge the full lesson fee.
Refund Policy
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
Adverse weather or unsuitable surfing conditions (e.g. waves that are too large or too small). In such cases, alternative surf-related activities will be offered where possible.
Accidents or physical exhaustion occurring during the activity.
¹ Medical conditions such as heart problems or pregnancy are examples where surfing is not recommended.
